Blogging Changes Staffing Relationships

Fed up with parking at where you work? It used to be you just had to suffer. Now you can take pictures and put it on your blog for the world to see, like this Yahoo employee did. Everything is more public these days, for better or worse, like this meat manager who marked down the beef then sent his wife to buy 47 pounds of it. Great plan, if you don't get caught. And any more it's not just caught, you get to appear on blogs all over the world (like this one).

Don't like sitting in the airplane for long trips? Take heart, this poor schmuck had the worse seat I can possibly imagine (warning, some foul language on that site) It's gotten to the point where major TV stations are recruiting people with cell phone cameras to be journalists. Wow! What a great country!
I think it is a great thing. The more we all talk, collectively, the more we can prevent things like the terrible incidence of old men getting suckered with personal ads, or the terrible incidence of email users loosing their money and machines to criminals.
But how to separate the good news from the trivial? Were you buying beef in Budapest last week? If so, that butcher story probably rattled your cage. If not, perhaps it was mildly entertaining. Those crazy Budapestians! you might say. Or, if you knew the correct word, you might say "Those crazy Budapestonians" or Budapestites. Or whatever. But whatever you might say, you would be absolutely right. It's all about context. Or perhaps it is all about entertainment. As for me? I feel strongly both ways.

Recently I created a list of books that hackers recommend to each other -- what are the books super hackers use to help guide them form their own startups and make millions? hn-books might be a site you'd like to check out.
On the low-end of the spectrum, I realized that a lot of people have problems logging into Facebook, of all things. So I created a micro-site to help folks learn how to log-in correctly, and to share various funny pictures and such that folks might like to share with their friends. It's called (appropriately enough) facebook login help
