Stooges Three I Count Thee

| | Comments (0)

How many stooges does it take to screw in a light bulb? How many stooges were there, anyway? If you took our poll last week, the answer is below.

First the bad news. Nobody voted for the correct answer! You would think that with as many Stooges fans out there, we'd have somebody who knew it.
The good news? The right answer wasn't one of the selections! I hate it when that happens. Honestly, I thought there were five stooges in the three stooges. So all of those who voted (including myself), we were hoodwinked by fate.
And for the strange news? Nobody really knows how many stooges there were. The name "Three Stooges" was in dispute in the 30's, and there were no less than twenty so-called 'Stooges' groups doing vaudeville and other engagements, enough such that Columbia (actually, Columbia's lawyers) placed ads in several papers at the time announcing that the name "The Three Stooges" and "Stooges" were trademarks.
For those of you who only count "real" Stooges, the answer is "6" -- Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp, Joe, Curly Joe
But if you only count "real" Stooges, I would think the answer would be "3", right? Or would it be "6"? Isn't everyone a Stooge to some degree? Could the answer be "billions and billions of them?" What are you? Some kind of wise guy? Nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk.

Recently I created a list of books that hackers recommend to each other -- what are the books super hackers use to help guide them form their own startups and make millions? hn-books might be a site you'd like to check out.
On the low-end of the spectrum, I realized that a lot of people have problems logging into Facebook, of all things. So I created a micro-site to help folks learn how to log-in correctly, and to share various funny pictures and such that folks might like to share with their friends. It's called (appropriately enough) facebook login help
