A Bird So Rare, It Never Existed

| | Comments (0)

I blogged recently about just how do you know an animal is extinct? It seems that subject is more and more in the news lately, with the recent conclusion that the rare Cape Verde Raptor is SO rare, it never existed. And it had a cool-sounding name too -- perhaps all is not lost for the Cape Verde attack weasel or the Cape Verde dung sloth. But you never know.
