Surf's Up, Dude

| | Comments (0)

With a major hurricane bearing down on the Southern US states, it always makes me laugh to see the idiots out in the surf. For those of you who don't know it, the Gulf Coast of the United States is not known for big waves. So whenever big storms come, all the surfer-dude wannabes make their way out into the ocean.

Of course, none of that is happening in the bulls-eye, at least not that I know. You'd have to be a durn fool to go out during the landfall of a CAT4 hurricane. This is shaping up to be a doozy.
Couple things to remember:
- Most damage is done by flooding, not by wind
- Most people die after the storm, not during it
- Dennis will remain a severe flooding threat for days after he comes ashore. Look for flooding as far north as the Ohio valley
