WTF: Bring Back Extinct Species
Word today that scientist plan to reconstruct Neanderthal DNA. I think it's a great idea. And after soft tissue was found from real dinosaurs, I think we should go about reconstructing their DNA as well.
After all, we've already got scientists talking about building their own version of life from "kit" pieces of genes. If we can make up our own versions of life, certainly we can bring back life from prehistoric times, right?
I'd like to see what a Wooly Mammoth looked like, for real. Or a Sabre-Toothed Tiger. Or a T-Rex. What if the T-Rex had tiny feathers? Wouldn't it be a lot sillier-looking that the fearsome beast in Jurassic Park?
Wouldn't you want to know these things as well?
And as I have noted before, since dinosaurs grow the fastest of any animal, and since they are basically birds, we should be actively investigations using dinosaur farms in place of chicken farms.
